AVE CAESAR

Ave Caesar is a board game in which players can recapture the spirit of the Roman Chariot races that took place in the Circus Maximus in 500 B.C. by taking part in a three lap race. Each player gets an identical deck of 24 movement cards and draws three to choose from to start the race. With very easy rules and two tracks to race on (one on each side of the game board) Ave Caesar is a ton of fun. The tracks vary in width and card management is crucial as players can blockade their opponent's path in the narrower parts of the course which may even stop other racers from finishing! The Emperor is watching the race and paying homage to him is a requirement that means players must slow down during the race as they ride past him, adding to the strategy and planning necessary to become the first place finisher. The winner also gets the adulation of the crowds and the much sought after recognition from the Emperor himself!

BLOKUS

Blokus is a maddeningly simple game! The basic strategy is to place all your tiles on the game board while trying to block your opponents from placing their tiles. The rules are simple: blue goes first, followed by yellow, then red and finally green. The first player (blue) places any piece of their choice in it's home corner. Each color plays in turn. Two pieces of the same color must touch at their corners, but they cannot touch along their sides. When there is no piece left of a color that can be played, that color is considered "abandoned". When all the colors are abandoned, the winner is the person (or team) with the highest score. Players score one point for each square covered, 15 bonus points if they manage to use all their tiles, and 5 more points if the last piece played is the single square.

CHANG CHENG

Travel back in time to the Qin dynasty, when the Chang Cheng (long wall) was under construction, in the attempt to unify the provinces and protect them from the "Marauders of the North". Your mission is to build parts of the wall while simultaneously contending with other players to protect the wealthiest provinces. For every province that becomes protected by a player, he or she will collect a reputation point. The idea is to strategically place a fortified wall that will keep the Mongols from taking your points at the end of the game. You will use a combination of double-sided board maps, action cards, event cards, reputation counters, threat counters, and wall blocks to play this game. The person with the most reputation points after the final phase, when the Mongol attack occurs and negative points are thereby distributed, wins the game! The components are a nice quality with well done graphics and even the rule book is evocative of the antiquated paper style.

DIPLOMACY - 50TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION

Diplomacy is a board game of international (and quite personal) trust, promises, and outright treachery. It's the turn of the 20th century and the seven Great European Powers are vying for dominance. Players of Diplomacy represent England, Germany, Russia, Turkey, Italy, France, or Austria-Hungary prior to World War I.

At the beginning of each turn, players meet together in small groups to discuss their plans and suggest strategies. This is where alliances are openly or secretly made and orders are coordinated. Immediately thereafter, each player secretly writes an order for each of his or her units on a slip of paper. When all of the orders have been written, they are simultaneously revealed and then resolved. At this point, some army or naval units are moved, some are forced to retreat, and some are removed.

Each turn represents six months of time. The first turn is called a Spring turn and the next a Fall turn. After each Fall turn, each Great Power must reconcile the number of military units it controls with the number of Supply Centers it controls. This is when some units are removed and new ones built.

In order to survive, a player will need the help of others, and that will require negotiations, the forming of alliances, and promises - some will be kept and some will be broken. You've got an agenda, and a little back stabbing here and there can't be all bad, especially if it gets you closer to supremacy! The object of Diplomancy is to control the 18 Supply Centers, and in the end, the Great Power that manges to accomplish this tricky task through clever cunning wins the game.

Although Diplomacy is best played with seven players, rules for fewer players are included in the "Alternate Way to Play" section of the rulebook.

DIVIDENDS

Make your fortune on the volatile stock market through stock buying to earn dividend payouts or selling for profits. The key to success in this game lies in a player's ability to make the most money from each stock purchase while taking into consideration the effects of supply and demand on stock prices. While being the first-mover confers tremendous advantage, exercising major shareholder influence on dividend payouts can perhaps give a player the added edge towards financial victory!
DUST

It's 1950 in an alternate history. The Axis powers of World War II are utilizing alien technology to defeat the Allies and the Soviet Union. Dust contains over 800 pieces, hundreds of which represent reverse-engineered flying saucers, walking tanks, aircraft, and other machines of destruction used to wage war in Dust's borderless world. Players vie to conquer and control majorities of the world's lands and seas, while developing their infrastructure and high-tech armies. On their turn, players select a card from their hand that determines their strategy for the turn and need to carefully decide how to spend valuable production points which buy factories and units. In battle, players take turns rolling dice to destroy enemy units until one side is either totally annihilated, retreats, or a cease-fire is agreed upon. Control of a capitals, power sources, and majorities is key to earning victory points. A set number of victory points determines victory and once a player has accumulated half of them, he or she can attack an enemy capital. At that point, all players can join the fray on capital attacks. Chaos may ensue at this point leaving all but the victor, in the Dust!

Large crystals add +2 to any roll of the dice, as well as additional points in final scoring. But you only get two of these big rocks, so play them wisely. TICKET TO RIDE SWITZERLAND

Calling all fans of Ticket To Ride games! Jump aboard with the latest expansion game, Ticket To Ride Switzerland! This newest game is expressly designed for two to three players and requires a provision of forty trains (and the corresponding scoring markers) and 110 train cards from either Ticket To Ride, Ticket To Ride Europe, or Ticket To Ride Marklin. The fold out board, like the other games, is nicely featured with the same quality you would expect to find from a Days of Wonder board game. Some of the rules have been changed, compelling players to employ different strategies. Instead of the maximum of forty-six trains per player, this game allows for only forty trains each. For anyone who was working on their last route and ran out of trains, you understand the frustration and importance of this new rule! There are also forty-six destination tickets for the Swiss map, although some of these new cards can take you to adjacent countries. You still earn ten bonus points for having the longest and connected train routes. The locomotive cards (which are the multi-colored "wild cards" that can stand in for any other color) can now only be placed on the tunnel routes (before they could be played on any route). Also, when selecting cards from the train card pile, you can pick up two locomotive cards (just as you would with the regular train colors) instead of just one. These extra features will make for an interesting game!
Please Note: This is not a stand alone game. It requires components from either Ticket To Ride, Ticket To Ride Europe, or Ticket To Ride Marklin.

Contents of Ticket To Ride Switzerland:

1 Board Map of Switzerland Train Routes
46 Destination Tickets
1 Instruction Booklet in English, French, German, Spanish, Finnish, Norwegian,
       and Dutch.

Tsuro is the quick-playing game in which directions can change as easily as the game plays. The rules are simple - you place your stones, select your tiles, and attempt to build a safe path for your journey. WORLD CUP GAME

Control the destinies of national teams striving to obtain the World Cup, the most coveted soccer trophy on the planet! The World Cup Game is actually two games in one that allow you to recreate the first World Cup, which was played in 1930, and a recent World Cup played in 2002. Each player controls a number of teams during the chosen tournament year. Through the play of cards each player will score goals, press attacks, and run defenses, but penalties, fouls, and offsides can throw off your strategy. As you score goals for your teams you'll also be able to use the power of the match officials to remove goals for infringements. The 1930 game takes about an hour to play, while the 2002 game takes around 3 hours to play. Guide your teams through the rounds to get them as far as possible and hopefully, to the Final itself! The World Cup Game includes everything you need to play the 1930 and 2002 World Cup games.
