ACQUIRE

First released in 1962, Acquire has withstood the test of time. In Acquire, wealth is the goal. Players place tiles to found, grow, and merge hotel chains. As these chains grow and merge, so do the investment opportunities and stockholder bonuses which can be reinvested into other hotel chains. Players can trade and sell their stock in the hotel chains, or can simply hold their stocks. Whatever they feel is the healthiest move for their bank accounts. After many turns of heated selling, trading, and chain building, the game ends when either one player declares that all the hotel chains on the game board are safe, or when one player declares that there is a hotel chain of size 41 or more on the board. Greed is king in Acquire and in the end, the player with the most dough wins!

ALHAMBRA - THE VIZIER'S FAVOR

This expansion for the awarding-winning game Alhambra contains four additional modules for the original game that can be used either singly or in any combination. Play is still based on the rules of the original game, and rule changes, additional rules and new equipment are explained on separate sheets for each module. This is not a stand-alone game. The original Alhambra is required for play.

The Vizier's Favor is a module which allows the normal order of play to be interrupted for a special move: the purchase of a building tile. But this has its price - the building must be paid for with the exact money but you do not get an extra go!

The Bureaux de Change are six new playing cards which can be picked up like money cards. They make it much easier to pay exactly as if you hold one in your hand you can pay with two currencies instead of one. Unfortunately, you can only use a bureau de change card once. After that, it is placed on the discard pile.

Bonus Cards which have been played count as building tiles in the scoring rounds. As they are not normally played until later in the game, they can cause a few surprises when the scores for the buildings are awarded. However, you can only play them when you have added the building pictured on the card to your Alhambra!

There is a new kind of building for the Alhambra - the Workers' Huts. If a workers' hut is positioned skilfully, it can count as a maximum of three buildings of the same kind. But the workers' huts are not only important for getting the most buildings; they also help players to plan their walls better. Unfortunately, each player can only use a maximum of three huts.

The object of the game is to correctly answer the riddle on the card and collect the object that corresponds to the riddle. For example, the answer to a riddle may be "moon" and the player must traverse the maze to collect the tile with the moon pictured on it. When advancing through the maze, players get only one chance to successfully navigate to the desired location, once per turn (meaning they can not change en route). There is the advantage of turning the direction of one tile, per turn, before moving. The tiles are placed randomly on the board each game and you may choose the green side, or for more advanced playing, you may play the purple sides of the tiles.

UPTOWN

Put on the Ritz as you play Uptown, roaring twenties style! Your goal is to cluster your tiles in as few groups as possible. The ideal situation would be to have only one cluster, however, your opponent will not likely allow that to happen. After selecting one of five tiles to lay on the board, each player randomly replaces it from their own assortment and places it on their tile rack (very similar to the concept of Scrabble). Players have the option of replacing another player's tile with there own, as long as that action does not segment the opponent's group. It sounds simple, but it can be challenging to work on your tiles, while simultaneously observing your opponents. The high quality of the components blended with the twenties style motif, makes for a very enjoyable game!

Components of Uptown:
1 Game Board
140 Tiles - 28 in each of the five colors
