CARCASSONNE

In the game of Carcassonne, players develop the area around the southern French city of Caracassonne by placing land tiles. During each turn the area becomes larger as the players expand and add roads, fields, cities, and cloisters. The players may also deploy their followers as thieves, farmers, knights, and monks to control and score points for the land that they are able to claim. As each player only has a few followers, it pays to plan each move carefully and deploy followers when and where they can earn the most points. With this expansion, the players have new possibilities of strengthening their influence in the area around Carcassonne. Now, traveling merchants transport their goods to surrounding cities and monasteries. The cities in the surrounding countryside can increase to a size large enough to elect their own mayors. Simple farmers build large and prosperous farms. The church then tries to impress their importance by establishing abbeys. This is not a stand-alone game. In Carcassone - Hunters and Gatherers, players use land tiles to create a beautiful pre-historic landscape complete with scattered wild animals such as mammoths and saber-toothed tigers. Fish-filled rivers snake through the landscape while players populate the land and build huts to live in. There are many new things to discover in this pre-historic version of Carcassonne, including the rare but very useful special cards. While Hunters and Gatherers is a new variant of the wildly popular original, it retains all the challenge, fun, and excitement of the first Carcassonne. Players who know Carcassonne will pick up this game quickly, and others will learn it just as easily as the original. Carcassonne - Inns and Cathedrals is the first expansion for the award-winning game Carcassonne! The Cathedral triples the value of a city, and the Inn doubles the value of a road - but only when they are completed. In addition, players may use the new large follower to double their chances of controlling a city, road, or field. There are 6 point tiles to make scoring easier when players score more than 50 points, and this expansion includes all the necessary material to allow a sixth player to join in the fun! Carcassonne: The Discovery is a stand alone game, not a Carcassonne expansion. In the game, the people of the Carcassonne region explore and discover the mountains, sea, and vast grasslands of the surrounding area. Players lay down tiles to expand into new territories. Skill and strategy came into play as players try to control new regions by deploying their followers as brigands, navigators, and explorers and how this deployment is approached is key to victory. In Carcassonne: The Discovery, a unique twist has been added and players get to choose when their regions score rather than automatically upon thier completion. Regions score higher when complete but completing them takes precious time and resources. It's up to you to decide when to cash in! CARCASSONNE - THE PRINCESS and THE DRAGON

Carcassonne - The Princess and the Dragon is a fantasy expansion for the prize-winning game Carcassonne! The land around Carcassonne is being visited by a dragon, making life very difficult for the followers. Brave heroes venture forth to face the danger, but without the aid of the fairies their chances are not good. In the city, the princess seeks help from the knights, and farmers build secret passages to move about undetected by the dragon. This is not a stand-alone game. Ever upwards in Carcassonne! In this Carcassonne expansion, players have the opportunity to build upwards! The lords of the region around Carcassonne erect towers to strengthen and promote their power and influence. They employ followers to stand guard on the towers, watching over the land so they can inform their lords of all who travel and move throughout the area. Players may capture opponents' followers, holding them in prison. Later, the players may arrange a prisoner exchange, to the advantage of the players involved. Also, a player may arrange to pay ransom for the return of an imprisoned follower. Fans of Carcassonne will enjoy the new tactical opportunities offered by this expansion. Carcassone The Tower also includes a special tower for storing the landscape tiles, giving players a convenient way to draw tiles during the game. This is not a stand-alone game. A copy of Carcassone is required for game play.
CARCASSONNE - TRADERS AND BUILDERS

Carcassonne - Traders and Builders is the second expansion for the award-winning game Carcassonne! Traders can earn players extra points, and builders enable players to place extra tiles which allows the cities and roads to grow faster. This expansion introduces interesting new rules, such as a properly placed pig enriching the value of a farm. Also included is a small cloth bag for the tiles, making it easier to shuffle and draw them during the game. The original Carcassonne is required for play.
